This structure will gather 130 researchers and Swiss and international doctors and will act as a bridge between fundamental and clinical research.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unige.ch\/medecine\/translatoncohemato\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CRTOH<\/a> is the result of a public-private partnership, gathering on one side the University of Geneva (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unige.ch\/en\/university\/presentation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNIGE<\/a>) and a consortium of private foundations on the other. This new entity should become a central part of Swiss Cancer Center L\u00e9man (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chuv.ch\/en\/oncologie\/onc-home\/le-departement\/swiss-cancer-center-leman-sccl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SCCL<\/a>), which brings together the Universities of Geneva and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/central\/en\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lausanne<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/epfl.ch\/index.en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EPFL<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hug-ge.ch\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HUG<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chuv.ch\/fr\/chuv-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CHUV<\/a>. The SCCL aims to become the first truly integrated cancerology network in Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>Located in the new building of the CMU, the CRTOH will enhance treatments. Its goal is to implement the discovery of novel therapeutic drugs against cancer as quickly as possible. \u201cThe CRTOH, thanks to its researchers and state-of-the-art facilities within the Geneva university medical center, constitutes one of the major anchor points of our canton\u201d, says Henri Bounameaux, dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the UNIGE.<\/p>\n<p>Cancer is one of the main causes of mortality in Switzerland.
