By drawing on the experience gained over generations, Agrop\u00f4le’s mission is to act for the future by stimulating innovation in the agro-food industry.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

With a budget of between 40 and 50 million francs, five new buildings entirely dedicated to innovation in agriculture and food are to be built at the Agrop\u00f4le<\/a> of Molondin in the canton of Vaud. The first building is expected to be operational by 2021.<\/p>\n

Established in 2013, Agrop\u00f4le aims to bring together all the players in the agro-food industry, from producers to supermarkets, as well as those in agritech and foodtech innovation in order to build an environmentally, economically and socially sustainable future. The agritech and foodtech innovations are industrialized and commercialized. Based on its sector expertise, this cluster acts as a link between research, innovations and players in the agro-food sector, enabling it to accelerate the deployment of innovative solutions to the marketplace.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Agrop\u00f4le will have at its disposal 35,000 square meters of modular surfaces and 150 hectares of agricultural land to allow open ground trials. Between 350 and 450 new jobs are expected to be created.<\/p>\n

Agritech & foodtech hub<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Agriculture is the second largest emitter of greenhouse gases and consumes 70% of the world’s freshwater resource. In order to minimize these impacts while ensuring food security, new sustainable models must be developed. A paradigm shift is made possible through innovation.
