The extension of the Scintilla branch of German group Bosch has been inaugurated in St. Niklaus in the canton of Valais. Investments in buildings, production machines and in optimizing the value stream will amount to CHF 32 million by 2020.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The new two-storey building of the Scintilla<\/a> branch of the German Bosch group has been inaugurated and offers nearly 4,000 square meters of space for new manufacturing technologies, allowing the company to increase its market expansion. In total, CHF 32 million have been invested (approximately EUR 29,000). In addition to the building, investments will be allocated for new production machines and for the optimization of production flows.<\/p>\n

“These important investments in St. Niklaus prove the importance of our site, which we can now equip for the future in the best possible way,” says Michel Imseng, CEO of Scintilla.<\/p>\n

An increasingly important growth in Valais<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The company’s expansion had become necessary, as Scintilla was no longer able to meet the growing demand. As the increase in productivity was at its peak, an expansion was essential. Demand for saw blades and Starlock accessories (oscillating tools) has been increasing sharply<\/em> in recent years, reaching double-digit growth rates.<\/p>\n

Bosch<\/a> employs around 2,800 people in Switzerland, including 680 in St. Niklaus in the canton of Valais. The company also expects new growth perspectives for 2019.<\/p>\n

For over 70 years, the St. Niklaus site has been developing and producing sabre and jigsaw blades, Starlock accessories, garden tool blades and step drills. For the first three types of accessories mentioned, the Valais-based factory is the world leader thanks to its unique technological and manufacturing know-how.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
