Both start-ups were awarded prizes at the 2020 edition of the Swiss Medtech Day.<\/h4>\n<p class=\"t-lead a-lead\">On the occasion of the most important event in the Swiss medical technology sector, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swissmedtechday.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Swiss Medtech Day<\/a>, the two Western Switzerland-based start-ups Rheon Medical and Coat-X received the Swiss Medtech Award in the amount of CHF 50,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"t-lead a-lead\">Glaucoma is an eye disease that irreversibly damages the optic nerve. Excessive intraocular pressure is the greatest risk factor for the development of glaucoma. With the eyeWatch solution from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rheonmedical.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rheon Medical<\/a>, a start-up based in Lausanne in the canton of Vaud, the patient&#8217;s intraocular pressure can be easily adjusted or set as needed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"t-lead a-lead\">Thanks to the innovative coating technology from <a href=\"https:\/\/coat-x.com\/fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coat-X<\/a>, a start-up based in the canton of Neuch\u00e2tel, the magnetic plate is protected against erosion caused by bodily fluids, a prerequisite for the implantation of the eyeWatch system.<\/p>\n<h4>A country and region among the most attractive for the development and manufacturing of complex and innovative devices<\/h4>\n<p>&#8220;Switzerland is one of the most attractive locations in the world for the development and manufacturing of complex and innovative medical devices.
