Through its unique Lab-on-Skin sensing platform, Xsensio<\/a>\u00a0seeks to address the emerging field of wearable biosensing. By sensing biochemical information on the skin\u2019s surface, the start-up\u2019s technology provides unprecedented real-time information about our health and wellness in a simple and minimally invasive way.<\/p>\n

In May 2021, Xsensio deployed its first Lab-on-Skin product in a pilot project at MotionLab<\/a>. The aim was to monitor electrolytes in sweat to manage heat acclimation and dehydration of athletes, enabling better performance and reduced risk of injury in hot or humid environments such as the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Next year, the start-up based in Lausanne (canton of Vaud) plans to introduce the platform to elite and professional athletes.<\/p>\n

The investment round is led by\u00a0Privil\u00e8ge Ventures<\/a>, a Swiss venture capital firm with offices in Lugano, Zurich and Boston, and included the\u00a0EIC Fund<\/a>\u00a0and other international investors. The proceeds will expand product and platform development, run clinical validation, and accelerate market launch through commercial partnerships in Europe and in the US.<\/p>\n

A paradigm shift in future healthcare delivery<\/h4>\n
