{"id":15568,"date":"2022-11-02T10:12:52","date_gmt":"2022-11-02T09:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ggba.swiss\/lche-a-new-center-for-health-economics-behavior-and-policy\/"},"modified":"2023-07-04T13:40:43","modified_gmt":"2023-07-04T11:40:43","slug":"lche-a-new-center-for-health-economics-behavior-and-policy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ggba.swiss\/en\/lche-a-new-center-for-health-economics-behavior-and-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"LCHE, a new Center for health economics, behavior and policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Recently inaugurated in Lausanne, the LCHE interdisciplinary center brings together\u00a0researchers\u00a0from the\u00a0Center for Primary Care and Public Health (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unisante.ch\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Unisant\u00e9<\/a>), the\u00a0Faculty of Biology and Medicine (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/central\/en\/home\/menuinst\/formations\/fbm---faculte-de-biologie-et-de-medecin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CHUV-FBM<\/a>), and the\u00a0Faculty of Business and Economics (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unil.ch\/hec\/en\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HEC<\/a>). Its goal is to contribute to the resolution of key societal and policy issues facing health and healthcare systems through research, training, and knowledge transfer to decision makers.<\/p>\n<p>For a few months now, researchers from UNIL and Unisant\u00e9 working in the fields of economics, public health, epidemiology, actuarial sciences, social and behavioral sciences, law and medicine have been collaborating within the new &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lche.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lausanne Center for Health Economics, Behavior, and Policy<\/a>&#8220;. Building on previous successful collaborations, they are now brought together under a common banner.<\/p>\n<p>UNIL, through its Faculty of Biology and Medicine and the Faculty of Business Administration, and Unisant\u00e9, wish to strengthen Lausanne&#8217;s position as an expert in these fields of research. The official inauguration of the Platform took place on 26 October 2022 at the AGORA center of the CHUV. The event featured international academic speakers as well as health policy experts in a roundtable discussion.<\/p>\n<h4>Research, teaching and knowledge transfer activities<\/h4>\n<p>Based in the canton of Vaud, at the heart of Western Switzerland\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.republic-of-innovation.org\/HealthValley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Health Valley<\/a>, the new Center aims to become a reference for health economics and policy, with the objective is to inform decision-makers about the impact of policy decisions on public health. The Center will organize conferences, seminars and workshops that will allow scientists to exchange new ideas and contribute to crucial decisions around the health system and health policies.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, a special emphasis will be placed on the use of new or hard-to-access data and their application through innovative analytical methods to address challenges such as aging populations, health inequalities and pandemics.
