SynchroGuard provides full grid visibility, efficiently integrates more renewables and EVs, and reduces the impact of blackouts thanks to unique fault location algorithms.<\/p>\n<p>Paolo Romano, co-founder and CEO of Zaphiro, said:\u00a0\u201cModernization of distribution grids is a core aspect of energy transition. The integration of clean energy sources is massively changing the energy flows and dynamics of distribution grids, generating a strong need for accurate grid monitoring, real-time management of blackouts, and failure prediction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Lausanne-based cleantech start-up, which was founded in 2017 as a spin-off of EPFL, completed a CHF 6.4 million Series A financing round. The investors are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/global.abb\/group\/en\/technology\/ventures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABB Technology Ventures<\/a>,\u00a0a private investor introduced by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ubs.com\/ch\/en\/corporates\/corporate-finance\/growth-advisory.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UBS Growth Advisory<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdpventurecapital.it\/cdp-venture-capital\/en\/home.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CDP Venture Capital SGR<\/a>\u00a0(Corporate Partners I fund \u2013 Energy Tech sub-fund),\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.clubdeglinvestitori.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Club degli Investitori<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.excellis.it\/en-gb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Excellis<\/a>. In addition, Zaphiro obtained financial support from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.technologyfund.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Technology Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Zaphiro Technologies has gained the attention of several prominent power utility companies in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia.
