{"id":15712,"date":"2023-01-10T09:19:14","date_gmt":"2023-01-10T08:19:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ggba.swiss\/flybotix-secures-chf-5-5-million-to-enhance-drone-navigation-with-its-patented-technology\/"},"modified":"2023-07-04T13:40:46","modified_gmt":"2023-07-04T11:40:46","slug":"flybotix-secures-chf-5-5-million-to-enhance-drone-navigation-with-its-patented-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ggba.swiss\/en\/flybotix-secures-chf-5-5-million-to-enhance-drone-navigation-with-its-patented-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"Flybotix secures CHF 5.5 million to enhance drone navigation with its patented technology"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Drones are more and more widely used to inspect hard-to-reach and dangerous areas, but many of them are either inaccessible to most drones due to their very limited flight time or necessitate lengthy inspections.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EPFL<\/a> spin-off <a href=\"https:\/\/flybotix.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Flybotix<\/a>\u2019s novel ASIO drone doubles the flight-time compared to competition and is quieter than a lawn mower.<\/p>\n<p>The recent Series A financing round in the amount of CHF 5.5 million was led by a Swiss Investment Holding advised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schwartzkopff.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Schwartzkopff Partners<\/a>. Several new investors participated in the round, in addition to the participation of existing investors. The financing part was covered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.technologyfund.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Technology Fund<\/a> (The Fund offers loan guarantees to Swiss companies whose novel products contribute to a sustainable reduction in greenhouse gas emissions).<br \/><br \/>Having successfully entered the market with its ASIO drone, Flybotix will use the newly acquired funds to further develop the autonomous navigation capabilities of the drone. Flybotix offers the ASIO pro solution with the drone unit, the flight app, and the post-processing software ASIO Explore, which the company is further developing on the cloud as a SaaS.<\/p>\n<h4>A drone technology leader recognized by industry experts and investors<\/h4>\n<p>Flybotix participated in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.venturekick.ch\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Venture Kick<\/a>\u00a0in 2019, winning CHF 50,000 to develop its drone technology and business model. It also participated in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.venturelab.swiss\/index.cfm?page=137303&amp;event_id=6604\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Venture Leaders China<\/a>\u00a0program, which took deep-tech entrepreneurs on an investor roadshow in the economic hubs of\u00a0Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong.<br \/><br \/>Flybotix also participated in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.esabic.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESA BIC Switzerland<\/a>\u00a0program and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.venturelab.swiss\/Virtual-Scale-Up-Bootcamps-offer-prosperous-business-development-opportunities-with-industry-leaders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scale-up Bootcamp<\/a>\u00a0in 2021. A jury of experts and investors also ranked the company among the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.top100startups.swiss\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TOP 100 Swiss Startups<\/a>\u00a0in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
