Takeda<\/a>, a leading global pharmaceutical company, specializes in the production of essential treatments for blood disorders like hemophilia and Von Willebrand disease. The company\u2019s Neuch\u00e2tel site focuses on producing treatments for blood disorders such as hemophilia. Employing about 700 people, the site has been pivotal in Takeda’s extensive global operations since its expansion into Western Switzerland following the acquisition of Shire in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recently announced CHF 5 million investment will primarily fund the installation of a photovoltaic system set to begin operation in early October 2024. Once completed, this solar energy project will generate 3.7 MW annually, supplying 25% of the plant\u2019s electricity needs. This initiative is part of Takeda’s broader commitment to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2035.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the company\u2019s press release, J\u00fcrgen Wagner, Head of the Neuch\u00e2tel site, emphasized the project\u2019s alignment with local collaborative efforts, such as apprenticeships that nurture future specialists from the region.
