Founded in 1908 in the Swiss capital, Toblerone<\/a> is one of the most iconic chocolate brands worldwide, recognized for its unique triangular shape and honey-almond nougat recipe. Today, around 90% of all Toblerone products sold internationally are still produced in Bern, reinforcing the city\u2019s role as the brand\u2019s historical and operational heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The planned investment will include the installation of a new state-of-the-art production line scheduled to be operational by autumn 2025. The upgrade is designed to meet growing global demand for premium chocolate, while also modernizing the facility\u2019s infrastructure, logistics, and chocolate and nougat production capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This move is part of Mondel\u0113z International<\/a>\u2019s broader ambition to become the leading global player in chocolate by 2030. Toblerone, with its established position in world travel retail and growing popularity in premium markets, is a central pillar in that vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bern facility currently produces an average of four million Toblerone products per day. The planned upgrades are expected to further boost production capacity and consolidate the site\u2019s strategic importance within Mondel\u0113z\u2019s European manufacturing network. It represents one of the company\u2019s most significant chocolate-related investments in the region over the past decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a nod to the brand\u2019s deep Swiss heritage, Toblerone packaging for products manufactured in Bern will soon feature the Swiss flag. This measure underscores the company\u2019s commitment to the city where it all began and highlights the value of Swiss-made quality in the global chocolate market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
