This latest funding round builds on its <a href=\"https:\/\/ggba.swiss\/en\/novamea-secures-usd-3-2-million-to-boost-green-hydrogen-production\/\">USD 3.2 million seed round raised in 2024<\/a> and includes participation from several international venture capital firms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NovaMea\u2019s core innovation lies in its proprietary membranes, ionomers, and catalyst-coated electrodes, all free of precious metals. These components have been validated by early adopters across sectors, with the company now reporting increasing demand for larger volumes and system sizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proceeds from the Series A round will support the scale-up of membrane and electrode production, while also financing continued R&amp;D. With global hydrogen demand rising and industrial decarbonization accelerating, NovaMea aims to meet market needs with a solution that is both technically advanced and cost-efficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 2023, the start-up is built on more than a decade of research from Professor Xile Hu\u2019s laboratory at EPFL. Hu, who co-founded the company and serves as Chairman of the Board, leads a small core team that includes CEO Xingyu Wu and COO Lou Denisart, along with additional staff and scientific advisors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NovaMea\u2019s technology is designed to support the energy transition by facilitating more sustainable hydrogen production for applications such as transportation, energy storage, green fertilizers, and clean industrial processes. The company is positioning itself as a key player in the growing green hydrogen market, which has faced scalability challenges due to cost constraints and infrastructure limitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By addressing these barriers with advanced AEM-based solutions, NovaMea joins a growing cohort of Western Switzerland-based cleantech innovators focused on accelerating the shift to carbon-neutral energy
