Neuch\u00e2tel is reinforcing its role in the digital economy with the opening of a new coworking center entirely dedicated to blockchain and artificial intelligence. Operated by Coworking Neuch\u00e2tel S\u00e0rl<\/a>, the space, called Coworking Blockchain Neuch\u00e2tel<\/em> (CBN<\/a>), was officially inaugurated on July 3, 2025, in the heart of the city, at Rue St-Honor\u00e9 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project consolidates an already active blockchain ecosystem in the canton, home to over 90 companies in the sector. CBN provides a physical hub for this community, offering four floors of facilities including private offices, flexible workstations, meeting rooms, and a conference space. At street level, a \u201cCoffice\u201d (coffee shop + office) welcomes the public, encouraging informal interaction and knowledge sharing. The building also houses the new connectivity shop of local telecom provider ello communications, which supplies high-speed internet and a direct link to the High DC data center in La Chaux-de-Fonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond workspace, the center aims to accelerate adoption of blockchain technology among businesses and citizens alike. Starting this fall, CBN will host a program of educational workshops and conferences. The launch event itself, Paradigme Bitcoin 2025<\/a><\/em>, held on July 4\u20135, brought together around 300 participants for talks, workshops, and networking on the theme \u201cBitcoin: sovereignty, energy, and networks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative has received support from the canton of Neuch\u00e2tel and the Swiss Confederation through the New Regional Policy (NPR<\/a>), underlining its strategic importance for economic development. During the opening ceremony, Neuch\u00e2tel\u2019s State Councillor for the Economy, Florence Nater, highlighted the project as a milestone in the region\u2019s digital transformation efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industry stakeholders view CBN as a platform to foster exchange, collaboration, and visibility in an increasingly competitive landscape. Despite challenges such as recent restrictions on crypto-related funds by local banks, entrepreneurs remain committed to building real-world blockchain applications in areas like cybersecurity, retail, and education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
