The funding will be used to accelerate commercial deployment across European and U.S. markets and to advance research and product innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SamanTree Medical is a European specialist in surgical imaging solutions. Its flagship product, the Histolog Scanner, is a confocal microscopy-based device designed to provide rapid, high-resolution imaging of excised tissue during surgical procedures. Unlike conventional pathology workflows, the system enables near-real-time visualization of tissue microstructures without damaging the specimen, allowing surgeons and pathologists to assess surgical margins while the patient remains in the operating room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Histolog Scanner has been used in more than 6,000 patients across multiple tissue types. In breast-conserving surgery, results from the SHIELD clinical study showed that the use of Histolog imaging reduced re-operation rates from 30% to 10%, representing a 67% reduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Supporting growth through EU-backed innovation financing<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The EIB financing is provided through the Bank\u2019s venture debt instrument and is supported by <a href=\"https:\/\/investeu.europa.eu\/index_en\">InvestEU<\/a>, the European Union\u2019s flagship initiative to stimulate innovation and strategic investment. According to the EIB, the funding reflects its commitment to supporting highly innovative, research-intensive medical technology companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this financing, SamanTree Medical plans to further develop the Histolog Scanner and scale its commercial presence, strengthening Europe\u2019s role in advancing real-time surgical imaging and precision
