Lausanne-based start-up miros<\/a> has closed a CHF 1 million pre-seed financing round from business angels to accelerate the deployment of its network of connected, bookable workpods across Switzerland. Founded in 2023 within the EPFL<\/a> ecosystem by Dr. Fabio Zuliani and Neil Chennoufi, the company develops a hardware and software platform, including a mobile app to locate, book, and access pods, designed for a workforce that is increasingly mobile and flexible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workpods are designed in collaboration with Lakabi, a Lausanne-based furniture brand, and fully manufactured in Switzerland through a production partnership with Ducommun Menuisiers, initiated via Innovaud’s SyNNergy<\/a> grant. The canton of Vaud has additionally supported the development of a new version made entirely from Swiss wood, reinforcing the company’s commitment to local sourcing. The combination of Swiss engineering, software, design, and craftsmanship positions miros as a rare example of a hardware startup maintaining full production control domestically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since launch, miros has deployed 15 workpods across partners including the SwissTech Convention Center<\/a>, Beaulieu Lausanne, and H\u00f4pital Riviera-Chablais, accumulating close to 350 hours of usage. A pod deployed at Village by Cr\u00e9dit Agricole in Toulouse since October 2025 marks the company’s first international step. Participation in Geneva Airport’s GVA Runway Lab open innovation program allowed miros to validate its product-market fit in real-world conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
