Lausanne-based insurtech startup Insurteam<\/a> has closed its second funding round, raising USD 1.3 million to accelerate the European deployment of its AI-powered travel insurance platform. The round was fully subscribed by existing shareholders, led by Spicehaus Partners<\/a> with participation from Next Patron<\/a> and a group of business angels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2024, Insurteam develops a B2B2C platform that automates sales and claims management in the travel insurance sector, leveraging artificial intelligence, data analytics, and multichannel communication. Its proprietary technology reduces claims processing time from several weeks to minutes and cuts insurance companies’ claim management administration costs by up to 80%. The solution serves channel partners including online travel agencies, tour operators, and wholesalers, enhancing both their operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Since launch, over 100,000 customers have used insurance policies powered by Insurteam’s technology, with the company already operating across Italy, the Netherlands, and the DACH region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new capital will support the launch of Insurteam’s Managing General Agent (MGA) insurance operations across Europe, a strategic expansion enabling the company to bring proprietary insurance products to market directly, targeting improved underwriting profitability alongside enhanced customer experience. The company has established its MGA operations in Dublin, Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
