L&rsquo;appareil, bas\u00e9 sur une technologie du CERN, sera install\u00e9 au CHUV \u00e0 Lausanne (canton de Vaud).<\/p>\n<p>Ce d\u00e9veloppement repr\u00e9sente un espoir tr\u00e8s important d&rsquo;augmenter l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 de la radioth\u00e9rapie, pour le plus grand b\u00e9n\u00e9fice des patients. En r\u00e9duisant l&rsquo;irradiation \u00e0 quelques millisecondes, la radioth\u00e9rapie FLASH r\u00e9duit consid\u00e9rablement les effets secondaires tout en augmentant son efficacit\u00e9 sur les tumeurs.<\/p>\n<p>Le programme b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie du soutien financier pr\u00e9alable de la Fondation ISREC, en partenariat avec la Fondation Biltema qui, par un don exclusif de CHF 25,8 millions, a rendu ce projet possible.<\/p>\n<h4>Un centre d&rsquo;excellence et d&rsquo;innovation scientifique et clinique au niveau international<\/h4>\n<p>Rebecca Ruiz, conseill\u00e8re d&rsquo;\u00c9tat en charge du D\u00e9partement de la sant\u00e9 et de l&rsquo;action sociale du canton de Vaud, a r\u00e9agi \u00e0 cet accord : \u00ab\u00a0Le canton de Vaud a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de faire de la recherche sur le cancer un axe fort en 2015. Au cours des sept derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, il a investi plus de USD 172 millions dans ce domaine. L&rsquo;accord sign\u00e9 aujourd&rsquo;hui s&rsquo;aligne parfaitement sur l&rsquo;intention de faire de Lausanne un centre d&rsquo;excellence et d&rsquo;innovation scientifique et clinique au niveau international, et de permettre \u00e0 la population vaudoise de b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier de traitements innovants.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;accord porte sur la collaboration des trois institutions pour le d\u00e9veloppement, la planification, la conformit\u00e9 r\u00e9glementaire et la construction du premier appareil de radioth\u00e9rapie au monde utilisant la technique FLASH avec des \u00e9lectrons de tr\u00e8s haute \u00e9nergie. THERYQ, qui fait partie de la division Sant\u00e9 d&rsquo;ALCEN, produira cet appareil unique qui utilise un acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur lin\u00e9aire compact bas\u00e9 sur la technologie du CERN. Un bunker sp\u00e9cial sera construit au CHUV pour accueillir cette technologie.<\/p>\n<p>Le dispositif devrait \u00eatre op\u00e9rationnel d&rsquo;ici deux ans.
