Le projet, qui combine ing\u00e9nierie, biologie et pratique clinique, est l&rsquo;un des deux laur\u00e9ats du prestigieux prix de cette ann\u00e9e, qui soutient la recherche translationnelle innovante dans la r\u00e9gion l\u00e9manique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les lymphocytes T, principaux d\u00e9fenseurs du syst\u00e8me immunitaire, ont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement du mal \u00e0 se fixer sur les cellules canc\u00e9reuses et \u00e0 les \u00e9liminer en raison de la souplesse anormale de leurs membranes. En rendant les cellules canc\u00e9reuses plus rigides, les chercheurs esp\u00e8rent renforcer la r\u00e9ponse immunitaire chez les patients pour lesquels les immunoth\u00e9rapies actuelles restent inefficaces. L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe de recherche pense que cette propri\u00e9t\u00e9 m\u00e9canique pourrait repr\u00e9senter une vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 cach\u00e9e des tumeurs, qui pourrait \u00eatre exploit\u00e9e pour am\u00e9liorer les r\u00e9sultats des traitements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un projet translationnel de la d\u00e9couverte \u00e0 l&rsquo;application clinique<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet, d&rsquo;une dur\u00e9e de trois ans, sera men\u00e9 dans plusieurs institutions. \u00c0 l&rsquo;EPFL, les chercheurs effectueront un criblage \u00e0 haut d\u00e9bit pour identifier les mol\u00e9cules capables d&rsquo;augmenter la rigidit\u00e9 des membranes de mani\u00e8re s\u00fbre et efficace. Les scientifiques de l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unige.ch\/\">UNIGE<\/a> exposeront ensuite ces cellules canc\u00e9reuses trait\u00e9es \u00e0 des cellules immunitaires d\u00e9riv\u00e9es d&rsquo;\u00e9chantillons de sang de patients et effectueront des tests sur des mod\u00e8les animaux pour \u00e9valuer la synergie entre la rigidit\u00e9 des membranes et les immunoth\u00e9rapies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aux <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hug.ch\/\">HUG<\/a>, des sp\u00e9cialistes en oncologie analyseront des \u00e9chantillons de biopsies de patients afin d&rsquo;explorer les liens potentiels entre la composition de la membrane des cellules canc\u00e9reuses et la r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 l&rsquo;immunoth\u00e9rapie. Ces travaux pourraient r\u00e9v\u00e9ler si les tumeurs dont les membranes sont plus souples sont plus susceptibles de r\u00e9sister au traitement et contribuer \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9laboration de futures strat\u00e9gies de stratification des patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 par la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leenaards.ch\/\">Fondation Leenaards<\/a> pour son approche innovante d&rsquo;un d\u00e9fi clinique majeur et pour avoir r\u00e9uni des experts de diff\u00e9rentes institutions et disciplines. Il illustre comment la collaboration interdisciplinaire peut ouvrir de nouvelles voies dans la lutte contre le cancer, transformant potentiellement la fa\u00e7on dont les th\u00e9rapies seront
