Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des ultrasons et \u00e0 des cils artificiels, cette solution permet de nettoyer ces dispositifs de mani\u00e8re non invasive afin de r\u00e9duire les risques d&rsquo;infection, d&rsquo;am\u00e9liorer le confort des patients et d&rsquo;all\u00e9ger la charge qui p\u00e8se sur les syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les stents et cath\u00e9ters urinaires implant\u00e9s sont largement utilis\u00e9s pour maintenir le drainage chez les patients souffrant d&rsquo;obstructions caus\u00e9es par des calculs r\u00e9naux, des tumeurs ou un r\u00e9tr\u00e9cissement anatomique. Au fil du temps, ces dispositifs accumulent des biofilms bact\u00e9riens et des d\u00e9p\u00f4ts cristallins, qui peuvent entra\u00eener des infections et des d\u00e9faillances. Les solutions actuelles n\u00e9cessitent le remplacement r\u00e9gulier des dispositifs tous les deux \u00e0 six mois, un processus qui peut \u00eatre inconfortable pour les patients et co\u00fbteux pour les h\u00f4pitaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans une \u00e9tude r\u00e9cente, une \u00e9quipe interdisciplinaire dirig\u00e9e par le Dr Francesco Clavica (Universit\u00e9 de Berne et Inselspital) et le professeur Daniel Ahmed (ETH Zurich) a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que les ultrasons peuvent activer des cils artificiels, de minuscules structures ressemblant \u00e0 des poils situ\u00e9es \u00e0 la surface du dispositif, afin de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer un mouvement fluide qui \u00e9limine les accumulations nocives. Les r\u00e9sultats ont \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9s dans <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pnas.org\/doi\/10.1073\/pnas.2418938122\">PNAS<\/a><\/em> et sont bas\u00e9s sur des mod\u00e8les de laboratoire imitant les uret\u00e8res humains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce projet est n\u00e9 d&rsquo;une collaboration entre des ing\u00e9nieurs m\u00e9dicaux et des sp\u00e9cialistes cliniques du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artorg.unibe.ch\/\">Centre ARTORG<\/a> de Berne et de l&rsquo;Inselspital, avec le soutien de l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unibe.ch\/universite\/organisation\/direction_de_luniversit_et_administration_centrale\/vice_rectorat_de_la_recherche_et_de_linnovation\/innovation_office\/index_fra.html\">Innovation Office<\/a> de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Berne. Il a \u00e9galement re\u00e7u un financement du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snf.ch\/fr\/m1BuKkhqcSedG8Ix\/encouragement\/programmes\/bridge\">programme BRIDGE<\/a>, une initiative conjointe du Fonds national suisse de la recherche scientifique et d&rsquo;Innosuisse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Des travaux sont actuellement en cours pour d\u00e9velopper un prototype de dispositif destin\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00eatre test\u00e9 sur des animaux, dans le but de cr\u00e9er une entreprise d\u00e9riv\u00e9e pour commercialiser le produit. L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe souligne que, m\u00eame si des d\u00e9veloppements suppl\u00e9mentaires sont n\u00e9cessaires, ces r\u00e9sultats constituent une \u00e9tape prometteuse vers
