Le Geneva Quantum Network (GQN) est le fruit d\u2019une collaboration entre l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Gen\u00e8ve (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unige.ch\/\">UNIGE<\/a>), le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unige.ch\/\">CERN<\/a>, l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hesge.ch\/hepia\/\">HEPIA<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idquantique.com\/\">ID Quantique<\/a>, Rolex et l\u2019Office cantonal des syst\u00e8mes d\u2019information et du num\u00e9rique (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ge.ch\/organisation\/office-cantonal-systemes-information-du-numerique-ocsin\">OCSIN<\/a>). Le projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 officiellement pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 lors du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qidis25.com\/\">Swiss Quantum Industry Day<\/a>, en pr\u00e9sence de la conseill\u00e8re d\u2019\u00c9tat Delphine Bachmann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S\u2019appuyant sur l\u2019infrastructure de fibre optique de l\u2019OCSIN, le GQN s\u2019\u00e9tend sur 262 kilom\u00e8tres, reliant les principaux sites de recherche et d\u2019industrie du canton. Le r\u00e9seau offre une plateforme exp\u00e9rimentale \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 la communication quantique, \u00e0 la m\u00e9trologie et \u00e0 la synchronisation, positionnant Gen\u00e8ve comme un p\u00f4le national et international de l\u2019innovation quantique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une collaboration public-priv\u00e9 au service de la recherche et de la formation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>La communication quantique exploite les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s des particules de lumi\u00e8re, ou photons, pour permettre un transfert de donn\u00e9es ultra-s\u00e9curis\u00e9 et des mesures temporelles d\u2019une pr\u00e9cision extr\u00eame. Des r\u00e9seaux d\u00e9di\u00e9s comme le GQN sont essentiels pour tester et d\u00e9ployer ces technologies dans des conditions r\u00e9elles. L\u2019initiative poursuit quatre objectifs principaux : progr\u00e8s scientifique, formation et \u00e9ducation, coordination et visibilit\u00e9, ainsi qu\u2019engagement du public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab La mise en service du GQN est un magnifique exemple de l\u2019impact que peuvent avoir les partenariats publics-priv\u00e9s. Les collaborations entre l\u2019administration, le monde acad\u00e9mique et les entreprises facilitent et acc\u00e9l\u00e8rent le d\u00e9veloppement de projets innovants&nbsp;\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Delphine Bachmann, conseill\u00e8re d\u2019\u00c9tat en charge du D\u00e9partement de l\u2019\u00e9conomie et de l\u2019emploi. \u00ab Les technologies quantiques ont un potentiel immense pour faire \u00e9merger des solutions qui permettront au secteur industriel d\u2019\u00eatre encore plus dynamique.&nbsp;\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans sa phase initiale, le r\u00e9seau reliera l\u2019UNIGE, le CERN et la HEPIA afin de distribuer des photons intriqu\u00e9s et de d\u00e9ployer des syst\u00e8mes de distribution de cl\u00e9s quantiques (QKD) d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s par ID Quantique. Le r\u00e9seau int\u00e8gre \u00e9galement des signaux temporels ultra-pr\u00e9cis fournis par l\u2019horloge atomique au rubidium optique de Rolex, ainsi que les syst\u00e8mes de synchronisation con\u00e7us par le CERN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La Suisse occidentale, un terreau fertile pour l\u2019innovation quantique<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Le lancement du Geneva Quantum Network s\u2019inscrit dans une dynamique plus large \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153uvre en Suisse occidentale. En exploitant le potentiel des technologies quantiques \u00e9mergentes, la r\u00e9gion se positionne comme un p\u00f4le incontournable dans ce domaine en pleine transformation. Fond\u00e9es sur les principes de la m\u00e9canique quantique, ces technologies ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives dans les domaines du calcul, de la communication et de la d\u00e9tection, permettant des avanc\u00e9es majeures en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des donn\u00e9es, de pr\u00e9cision des mesures et de recherche scientifique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La r\u00e9gion b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d\u2019un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me exceptionnel o\u00f9 le monde acad\u00e9mique, l\u2019industrie et les pouvoirs publics collaborent \u00e9troitement. Port\u00e9e par des universit\u00e9s de renomm\u00e9e mondiale, des centres de recherche \u00e0 la pointe et des partenaires industriels solides, la Suisse occidentale offre un environnement id\u00e9al pour la recherche et l\u2019application des technologies quantiques. Son savoir-faire historique en microtechnique, en optique et en technologies de l\u2019information s\u2019accorde parfaitement avec les exigences complexes de l\u2019innovation quantique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Leadership acad\u00e9mique et impact industriel<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Gen\u00e8ve est reconnue \u00e0 l\u2019international pour ses travaux pionniers en communication et cryptographie quantiques. \u00c0 travers le <a href=\"https:\/\/gqc.unige.ch\/\">Geneva Quantum Centre<\/a> et sa collaboration avec le leader industriel ID Quantique, l\u2019UNIGE a su transformer la recherche acad\u00e9mique en applications concr\u00e8tes pour la transmission s\u00e9curis\u00e9e de donn\u00e9es. Issue de l\u2019universit\u00e9, ID Quantique est devenue une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence mondiale en cryptographie et communication quantiques s\u00e9curis\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, l\u2019\u00c9cole polytechnique f\u00e9d\u00e9rale de Lausanne (EPFL) joue un r\u00f4le central gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son Center for Quantum Science and Engineering (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/research\/domains\/quantum-center\/\">QSE Center<\/a>), qui favorise la recherche interdisciplinaire et forme la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d\u2019ing\u00e9nieurs quantiques. Le CERN, bien que principalement connu pour la physique des particules, contribue \u00e9galement \u00e0 travers son Quantum Technology Initiative (<a href=\"https:\/\/quantum.cern\/\">QTI<\/a>) et son infrastructure de pointe d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 la m\u00e9trologie et \u00e0 la synchronisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Des collaborations nationales et internationales<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces atouts r\u00e9gionaux sont renforc\u00e9s par les programmes nationaux suisses tels que la Swiss Quantum Initiative (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbfi.admin.ch\/fr\/swiss-quantum-initiative-fr\">SQI<\/a>) et la <a href=\"https:\/\/quantum.scnat.ch\/fr\">Commission suisse pour les technologies quantiques<\/a>, qui visent \u00e0 consolider le leadership du pays et \u00e0 renforcer la coop\u00e9ration entre la recherche et l\u2019industrie.
