Geneva-based Xcert AI has raised CHF 1.1 million to accelerate the development of its AI-powered platform for automating aerospace certification and compliance processes.

Geneva start-up Xcert AI has closed a CHF 1.1 million funding round led by Spicehaus Partners to advance its artificial intelligence platform designed to automate certification and compliance workflows in the aerospace industry. The financing will support continued product development and prepare the company for the first major release of its platform, expected in December 2025.

Founded in 2024 by CEO Marc-Elian Bégin and Board Chair Lawrence Blakeley, Xcert AI addresses one of the most resource-intensive challenges in aerospace engineering: certification. As much as half of total aircraft or spacecraft development time and cost is spent on meeting regulatory requirements, producing documentation, planning verification steps and executing test procedures. Xcert AI’s platform combines AI-assisted analysis, workflow automation and structured project management tools to reduce manual effort, minimize human error and shorten time-to-market for complex, safety-critical systems.

The start-up has already secured traction with several early customers across the aerospace ecosystem. These pilot engagements are being used to integrate real-world feedback directly into the product roadmap and ensure broad adoption upon launch. According to the company, this early market validation underscores growing industry demand for tools that can help manage increasingly complex regulatory environments, particularly for systems integrating AI.

Addressing one of the most significant challenges in aerospace today

Xcert AI’s 12-person team brings expertise across AI, software engineering and aerospace systems design, an interdisciplinary profile considered essential for navigating stringent certification processes. The company aims to become a reference platform enabling manufacturers, integrators and regulators to manage compliance more efficiently and transparently.

“The support from Spicehaus Partners allows us to accelerate development and strengthen our position in a critical and fast-evolving industry,” said Marc-Elian Bégin, Co-Founder and CEO of Xcert AI. “Our goal is to make the certification of AI-enabled aerospace systems practical, scalable and aligned with regulatory expectations.”

Daniel Andres, Founding Partner at Spicehaus Partners, highlighted the importance of Xcert AI’s work for the wider sector. “Marc-Elian and his team are addressing one of the most significant challenges in aerospace today: certifying AI systems with the rigor required in safety-critical environments. Their platform has the potential to become a key enabler for the industry.”
