Following the success of its first scratch map, Neuchâtel start-up Swisstastic has launched the Swiss Travel Map, a large-format scratch map inviting users to explore Switzerland’s 26 cantons, funded through a WeMakeIt crowdfunding campaign.
Swisstastic, a start-up based in Neuchâtel, has launched the Swiss Travel Map, a large-format scratch map that invites users to discover Switzerland’s 26 cantons, their landmarks, culinary specialties and traditions. Founded by Nicolas and Victoria Waefler together with Ardeschir Dabaghchian, the company launched the project through a WeMakeIt crowdfunding campaign on June 19, 2026.
The bilingual French-German map presents the 26 cantons with their borders and coats of arms, along with one famous site and one culinary specialty per canton, complemented by ten Swiss traditions. Users scratch off the corresponding boxes as they visit each canton, taste its specialties and explore its sights, turning the map into a travel journal. Priced at CHF 45, it is aimed at families, Swiss travelers, expatriates and anyone wishing to rediscover the country.
The Swiss Travel Map follows Swisstastic’s first scratch map, dedicated to Swiss vineyards, which has sold more than 1,500 copies since March 2024. The final design is still being shaped through a series of Instagram polls inviting the public to vote, canton by canton, on which landmarks and specialties to feature.
The crowdfunding campaign has a target of CHF 5,000, equivalent to a little over a hundred pre-ordered maps, with contributions starting at CHF 10. The founders are already planning their next series, dedicated to four well-known Swiss wine regions, Geneva, Vaud, Valais and the Three Lakes region, and intend to expand sales into German-speaking Switzerland and develop an offering for companies.
