The new national Cyber Security Specialist Certificate provides training for specialists so that they can acquire practical skills to effectively manage cyber risks. After the approval of the examination regulations by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SEFRI) and the publication of the corresponding guidelines, the first training courses will be held this year.
This new professional qualification was developed by the Swiss Association for Professional Training in ICT in collaboration with the Confederation and with extensive support from the private sector. The launch ceremony for the new professional qualification took place on 11 November 2019 in the presence of Federal Councillor Viola Amherd.
A profile in ever-growing demand
Cyber Security Specialists (CSS) are a highly skilled workforce operating in the field of cybersecurity. They generally work in medium-sized or large private companies or in public institutions. Their main tasks are the preventive protection of an organization’s information and communication systems against attacks in cyberspace and the reactive management of security incidents. Cyber Security Specialists can lead small teams of professionals in charge of operating or involved in specific projects. In the context of their projects, they are responsible for individual batches of work or sub-projects.
