Vista Equity Partners acquires majority stake in Nexthink in USD 3 billion deal

The transaction marks a major milestone for the Vaud-based software company, reinforcing its leadership in AI-powered Digital Employee Experience solutions.
Nexthink, a global leader in Digital Employee Experience (DEX) management, has announced a definitive agreement to receive a majority investment from Vista Equity Partners, a leading U.S.-based technology investment firm specializing in enterprise software. The deal values Nexthink at USD 3 billion, positioning it among the most successful software companies ever to emerge from Switzerland.
Headquartered in Prilly (canton of Vaud), Nexthink was founded in 2004 as a spin-off from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). The company develops cloud-based platforms that monitor and improve employees’ digital experiences across devices, applications, and networks. Today, Nexthink serves more than 1,500 enterprise customers and 25 million employees worldwide.
Following the investment, founder and CEO Pedro Bados and the company’s leadership team will continue to lead Nexthink through its next phase of growth. The partnership with Vista, who is known for its focus on operational excellence and long-term value creation, aims to accelerate innovation and scale Nexthink’s AI-powered DEX solutions globally.
