Ecorobotix has reached a commercial milestone, with 1,000 units of its ARA ultra-high precision sprayer now deployed on farms across more than 30 countries spanning Europe, North and South America, and Oceania.
Ecorobotix, the Vaud-based agtech company developing AI-powered precision spraying systems, has announced that 1,000 units of its ARA ultra-high precision sprayer have been sold and deployed worldwide since the product’s launch five years ago. The milestone reflects the rapid commercial scaling of a technology that originated as a research concept at Y-Parc in Yverdon-les-Bains and has since expanded into a global agricultural platform.
The ARA system applies crop protection products within a 6 × 6 cm treatment footprint, using Ecorobotix’s proprietary Plant-by-Plant AI to identify and treat each plant individually rather than broadcasting across an entire field. The approach reduces herbicide use by up to 95% compared to conventional spraying while maintaining full treatment effectiveness, delivering measurable benefits in input cost reduction, resistance management, and environmental impact across vegetable, arable, and turf applications.
The 1,000 machines now deployed span farms in Europe, the United States, Canada, and Australia, supported by a growing network of regional offices and distributors providing localized training, technical support, and crop-specific algorithm development. With more than 30 crop algorithms currently available, the platform has demonstrated adaptability across a broad range of agricultural contexts and growing conditions.
The commercial milestone follows a period of significant investment and product expansion for Ecorobotix. The company raised a combined USD 150 million across its Series C and Series D rounds in 2024 and 2025, and in January 2026 launched ALBA, a new AI-powered precision sprayer targeting golf course and turf management, extending the Plant-by-Plant AI platform beyond field agriculture for the first time.
Founded in 2014 and now employing over 250 people, Ecorobotix holds B Corporation certification and continues to position precision spraying as a commercially viable and environmentally sound alternative to conventional crop protection methods.
