Lausanne-based Neural Concept, an EPFL spin-off specializing in AI-driven engineering, has opened its first dedicated commercial presence in India to support manufacturers already using its platform, including MAHLE.

Neural Concept has established a direct commercial presence in India, with teams based in Bengaluru and Pune. It is the company’s first official, dedicated footprint in the country. The move follows growing demand from Indian and global manufacturers already using its Engineering Intelligence platform in the region, including MAHLE, and gives them direct access to local commercial support, training and coordination with the company’s global engineering expertise.

India is the world’s third-largest automotive market, projected to reach USD 278.5 billion by 2034, and adds roughly 1.5 million engineering graduates every year. Electrification mandates, sustainability requirements and competition from Chinese manufacturers are increasing pressure on the country’s automotive and industrial sectors to shorten R&D cycles, while engineering AI is bringing agents into product development workflows and automating tasks across design and simulation.

CEO and Co-Founder Pierre Baqué said India is becoming a powerhouse for global engineering R&D, and that a direct presence brings the platform closer to one of the world’s most dynamic automotive and manufacturing R&D ecosystems. Sudhir Padaki, Regional Sales Director for India, said the team will combine local relationships with the company’s global expertise to help customers onboard efficiently and deploy AI across design and simulation workflows.

The expansion follows the opening of an office in Seoul in June, the company’s first in the Asia-Pacific region, and builds on its offices in Munich and New York. Founded in 2019 as a spin-off of EPFL, Neural Concept’s platform is used by more than 50 global industrial companies.
