Bern-based Almer Technologies has partnered with TeamViewer, a global leader in remote connectivity solutions.

In order to enhance remote support for frontline workers, Almer Technologies, a specialist in augmented reality (AR) solutions, has partnered with TeamViewer, a global leader in remote connectivity solutions. This collaboration introduces an out-of-the-box AR bundle, leveraging the compact Almer Arc 2 AR headset integrated with TeamViewer’s advanced AR remote support solution, xAssist.

Almer Technologies, established by a team from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and Tsinghua University, has been at the forefront of AR technology development. With its latest offering, the Almer Arc 2, the company aims to redefine the way frontline workers operate by providing a hands-free, augmented reality experience. This approach not only enhances efficiency but also enables immediate access to information and expert assistance, directly within the user’s field of vision.

The strategic partnership with TeamViewer, known for its remote access and management platform installed on over 2.5 billion devices worldwide, signifies a leap towards integrating AR technology into everyday industrial tasks. The bundle includes a flexible subscription model designed to alleviate the burden of high initial hardware costs for companies, offering free hardware upgrades and easy replacements.

A significant milestone in the adoption of AR technology

Pilot customers, including Swisscom and Oerlikon, have already implemented the solution in their operations, witnessing significant productivity and efficiency gains. The use cases range from aftersales support and remote assistance to remote training, showcasing the versatility of the Almer and TeamViewer bundle.
