Vaud-based machine learning specialist Atinary Technologies has raised USD 5 million, propelling the start-up towards a new era of material and molecular innovation.

Atinary Technologies, an avant-garde firm based in Epalinges (canton of Vaud), has successfully secured a USD 5 million seed round led by AgFunder, a notable feat aimed at accelerating the research and discovery of breakthrough molecules and materials through its robust machine-learning platform. This substantial financial injection is set to propel Atinary’s Self-Driving Labs (SDLabs) platform to greater heights, broadening the realms of possibilities in the meticulous domain of material discovery.

SDLabs, a no-code platform engineered by Atinary, outstrips conventional trial-and-error methodologies like one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT), design of experiments (DoE), and high-throughput experimentation (HTE). The platform significantly simplifies the process of experiment planning, enabling users to effortlessly integrate the prowess of AI and ML technology into their existing workflows, with an impressive onboarding time of just two hours. Coupled with an advanced analytics module, SDLabs furnishes users with indispensable insights into their experiments, a game-changer in achieving optimal outcomes across a myriad of industries including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemicals, and more.

An AI-driven era for the chemical and materials industry

Founded in 2019 by the visionary duo, Hermann Tribukait and Loïc Roch, Atinary Technologies has transitioned from an ambitious concept to a validated reality through extensive testing with respected institutions in both the industrial and academic realms. “The chemical and materials industry is entering a new AI-driven era, and Atinary is at the forefront of this revolution,” proclaimed Co-Founder and CTO Dr. Loïc Roch, elucidating on the remarkable strides made by merging their AI technology with automation.

The freshly acquired USD 5 million investment is a catalyst for deploying the SDLabs platform at an augmented scale, further refining its already stellar ML technology solutions, and fortifying partnerships. This funding round was a collaborative venture, with the involvement of Cherubic Ventures alongside AgFunder, both extending their robust support to Atinary’s mission. Ventures joins existing pre-seed investors from the US and Europe in propelling Atinary Technologies into its next scaling up phase.
