DePoly tops 2024 Swiss Startup Awards with its innovative plastic recycling technology

At the 14th edition of the prestigious TOP 100 Swiss Startup Awards, DePoly, an EPFL spin-off, emerged as the top-ranked start-up.
Specializing in advanced recycling, DePoly‘s patented technology converts plastic waste into high-quality raw materials. The start-up is currently building a demonstration plant in Valais. This year’s TOP 100 Swiss Startup Awards, held in Lausanne, featured 40 new entrants, including Corintis and Yokoy, which took second and third place, respectively. The event recognized the innovation, impact and potential of Swiss start-ups in various sectors.
Samantha Anderson, CEO of DePoly, shared the company’s pride in receiving the award, stating: “This recognition further propels us toward revolutionizing how the world recycles plastics and moves towards a more sustainable future.” The event also acknowledged the broader role of the Swiss start-up ecosystem in driving innovation and creating jobs, with over 600 start-ups having been recognized since the awards’ inception.
Corintis, another EPFL spin-off, secured second place with its innovative liquid cooling systems for semiconductors that address the heat challenges exacerbated by AI applications in data centers. Yokoy, a Zurich-based start-up specializing in AI-powered expense management, came in third, demonstrating its rapid growth and ability to streamline financial processes for companies worldwide.
The TOP 100 Swiss Startup Awards, organized by Venturelab, continue to spotlight the next generation of innovative companies that are shaping the future of industries, ranging from cleantech to medtech.
