EHL named world’s best university in hospitality education
9 March 2021
The Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) has once again secured its position as the world’s leading institution in hospitality management education and ranks now among the top five business management institutions in Switzerland.
According to the 2021 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) university ranking, the EHL retains the top spot in the hospitality and leisure management discipline.
To establish its international rankings, QS World University Rankings relies primarily on the reputation of universities in the academic world and among 50,000 employers.
EHL’s status as a reference has been built on its ability to offer its students an ecosystem in which it is good to study and to train graduates who are highly sought-after for their skills, knowledge and exemplary attitude.
In addition, EHL has made a breakthrough in the top five business management institutions in Switzerland, making it rival the best specialized universities in the country, such as the University of St. Gallen and IMD.
These two fine recognitions are the fruit of an exceptional and caring educational environment, training the managers and enlightened citizens of tomorrow.
Numerous Western Switzerland universities in the top global rankings
According the QS World University Rankings, eight of the ten best hotel schools in the world are located in Switzerland. Both Les Roches Global Hospitality school, in the canton of Valais, and the Glion Institute of Higher Education, in the canton of Vaud, also cracked the top 10 for hospitality education.
In other disciplines, numerous institutions from Western Switzerland also shined. The EPFL was among the ten best universities in four disciplines: chemistry, computer science, civil and structural engineering, and electrical/electronic engineering, and the University of Bern cracked the top ten in dentistry.
