Kielder Agro Group has joined Gaia Tech as a strategic investor, providing fresh capital to accelerate the development of the company’s platform for ingredients upcycled from agricultural side streams.

Kielder Agro Group, a Swiss-based responsible agriculture and sustainable development enterprise, has joined Gaia Tech as a strategic investor. The capital will support research, development and the scaling of the company’s core product portfolio, alongside expansion into new ingredients. Eduardo Pares, CEO of Kielder Agro Group, has joined Gaia Tech’s board of directors following the round.

Founded in 2021, Gaia Tech replaces harmful ingredients with bio-compounds and added-value ingredients extracted from agricultural side streams that were previously discarded. By transforming high-volume biomass such as olive pomace, rapeseed cake or spent coffee grounds into functional ingredients, the company aims to enable sustainable supply chains at industrial scale.

Alongside the round, the company has converted a loan from the W.A. de Vigier Foundation into equity. Gaia Tech is supported by existing shareholders and early partners including the Migros Pioneer Fund, Tech4Impact, Venture Kick, the Foundation for Innovation and Technology and the Economic Development Agency of the canton of Bern.
