Blockchain-based start-up LAK3 has secured USD 12.4 million in funding to advance its ambitious mission of transforming the global water economy.

Geneva-based start-up LAKE (LAK3), leveraging blockchain technology to reshape the global water economy, has successfully raised USD 12.4 million through two funding rounds. This financial boost positions the company as a pioneer in modernizing water accessibility and sustainability, drawing support from notable investors like Artaize Invest, EMB Venture Capital, and business angel Michel Audeban.

Earlier this year, LAKE completed a private sale, securing USD 3 million from a diverse array of investors, including entrepreneurs, industrialists, and family offices. These funds enabled the company to expand its workforce, establish an operational hub in Dubai, and forge partnerships with organizations such as Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and premium water sources, including Switzerland’s Sembrancher and Corsica’s Zilia.

In the company’s press release, CEO Jean-Hugues Gavarini highlighted the importance of this milestone: “The trust from our investors has laid a strong foundation for global expansion. These partnerships and our growing team bring us closer to making the water economy accessible to everyone.”

The second funding round, launched in late August, has already raised USD 9.4 million—exceeding its initial USD 6.5 million soft cap and nearing its USD 12 million hard cap. LAKE continues to seek additional institutional investment to scale global operations, launch its LAK3 token, and enhance its supply chain network.

Investor confidence reflects LAKE’s ambitious approach with EMB Venture Capital’s Managing Partner Kris Badinga-Sousatte remarking: “LAKE’s mission to revolutionize the water economy establishes new standards for the industry’s future.” Business angel Michel Audeban echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the transformative potential of LAKE’s model to empower stakeholders.

The start-up’s innovation has earned recognition beyond investment circles. Recently named a top-10 winner at the Web3 Oscar, organized by the Blockchain for Good Alliance, LAKE is celebrated for advancing sustainable development aligned with United Nations goals. With high-profile advisors like Louis de Meckenheim, Marketing Director at Chopard, LAKE is supported by an influential network and an active global community.
