From April 2027, LATAM Airlines Brasil will operate three weekly flights between São Paulo and Geneva with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, connecting Western Switzerland to Brazil and the rest of South America.
Geneva Airport has announced that LATAM Airlines Brasil will launch a São Paulo–Geneva–São Paulo route in April 2027, with three flights a week operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. It will be the first direct service between Geneva and South America, and Geneva will become LATAM Brasil’s 11th European destination and 33rd international destination.
Flights from Geneva will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 12:05 pm and arrive at São Paulo/Guarulhos at 6:55 pm the same day. In the opposite direction, flights will leave São Paulo on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 6:05 pm and arrive in Geneva at 9:55 am the following day (local times, subject to change). Through its Guarulhos hub, LATAM connects to destinations across Brazil and South America, including major cities in Argentina, Chile, Peru and Colombia. Tickets went on sale on November 1, 2026.
New cargo capacity
Jean-François de Saussure, Managing Director of Geneva Airport, calls the route “fantastic news for the entire region,” long awaited by diplomatic, business and tourism stakeholders and by the large Brazilian community living in the area. Thibaud Morand, Managing Director of LATAM Airlines for Europe, Asia and the South Pacific, says the connection will strengthen economic, tourism and commercial ties between the two regions.
The route will also offer a weekly cargo capacity of 36 tonnes from Geneva to São Paulo and 55 tonnes in the opposite direction. For certain shipments bound for Switzerland, the direct route could cut transit times by at least eight hours and remove the need for road transport from other European airports. From Geneva, it will be able to serve demand for pharmaceutical products, including active ingredients and temperature-sensitive goods, as well as chemicals and watch components, sectors well represented in Western Switzerland.
What it means for Brazilian investors
For GGBa, which has a representative in Brazil, the route supports its work with investors from Brazil. Executives and project teams will be able to fly directly to Geneva to visit sites, meet cantonal partners and prepare an establishment in Western Switzerland. Geneva Airport also notes that the United Nations, its agencies and many multinationals based in the region maintain strong ties with Brazil and South America and travel there frequently, so the direct service also benefits companies already established here.
