Biel-based medtech company Optimo Medical has sealed a partnership with Ansys, a global 1.516 billion revenue company providing multiphysics engineering simulation software since 1970. This partnership will help Optimo Medical to further develop its products.
Founded in 2015, Optimo Medical is specialized in biomechanical analysis and simulation of the anterior eye. Its flagship software, dubbed Optimeyes, is a CE-marked technology that creates an identical, digital copy of the patient`s cornea based on eye measurement data.
Alongside Optimeyes, the start-up also offers the “Optimeyes Virtual Clinical Trials” (VCT) targeting industrial clients. Clients in the ophthalmology community are already using both products.
To further deliver solutions that empower surgical precision to maximize patient outcomes, Optimo Medical has entered a partnership with Ansys to integrate Ansys Mechanical with its Optimeyes technology.
Ansys is a billion-dollar NASDAQ listed company and a global leader in engineering simulation, serving clients across various industries, including aviation, automobile, computer, mobile, and wearables. Optimo Medical will leverage Ansys’ technology to enhance its products and introduce new ones.
“Winning Ansys as a partner is a knightly accolade that allows us to establish credibility with the clients,” explains Alexander van der Mey, Chief Commercial Officer at Optimo Medical.
Located in Biel in the canton of Bern, Optimo Medical has built a steady reputation as the leading company in the field of virtual clinical trials for the anterior eye segment and is a recognized global technology leader in patient-specific astigmatism management.
