French industrial robotics specialist Siléane has opened its first international subsidiary in Western Switzerland, strengthening its European expansion strategy and deepening its proximity to key industrial and innovation ecosystems.

French industrial robotics company Siléane has officially opened a new subsidiary in Western Switzerland, marking the first international expansion in the company’s history. The new entity reflects Siléane’s ambition to support its growing base of international clients while reinforcing its presence within one of Europe’s most dynamic industrial and innovation environments.

Founded in 2002 in Saint-Étienne, Siléane has built a strong reputation in industrial robotics by developing highly flexible automation solutions that combine robotics, vision technologies and artificial intelligence. Often described as giving “hands, eyes and a brain” to robotic systems, the company designs tailor-made solutions capable of handling complex, variable and delicate tasks that conventional automation struggles to address.

With around 200 employees and annual revenues of approximately EUR 40 million, Siléane operates across a wide range of industries, including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, agri-food, nuclear, recycling and advanced manufacturing. Its project-based approach allows the company to develop bespoke robotic systems adapted to specific industrial constraints, while also offering standardized solution platforms that can be deployed more rapidly.

A strategic base for industrial automation

The decision to establish its first international subsidiary in Western Switzerland, in the canton of Geneva, reflects the region’s strong industrial fabric, concentration of high-value manufacturing, and proximity to major European clients. The new Swiss entity will support commercial development, project coordination and customer relations, while benefiting from the region’s dense ecosystem of innovation, engineering expertise and multinational companies.

Siléane’s expansion comes at a time when demand for advanced automation is accelerating, driven by labor shortages, rising quality requirements and the increasing complexity of industrial processes. The company positions itself within the emerging concept of “industrial robotics 5.0,” emphasizing flexibility, adaptability and close interaction between humans and machines.

By choosing Western Switzerland for its first step beyond France, Siléane joins a growing number of industrial technology companies leveraging the region as a strategic base for European operations.
