Swiss Airtainer has secured pre-round A funding from private investors, enabling it to scale up production of its advanced temperature-controlled air cargo containers and expand globally.

Swiss Airtainer, a Vaud-based provider of innovative active temperature-controlled air cargo containers, has announced a significant pre-round A investment. The funding will enable the company to accelerate production of its sustainable, lightweight containers, which have already been validated by major pharmaceutical companies, airlines and logistics providers.

Founded in 2019, Swiss Airtainer has gained attention for its advanced containers, which are designed to efficiently transport temperature-sensitive goods such as vaccines and pharmaceuticals. The containers, made from the latest materials, reduce carbon emissions by 45%, saving four tons of CO2 on long-haul flights, such as a round-trip between Zurich and San Francisco. In addition, the containers incorporate solar panels and six fully redundant lightweight batteries to ensure consistent temperature control even in challenging conditions.

Swiss Airtainer containers are equipped with the industry’s first two-way GSM communication capabilities, allowing real-time tracking, alerting and preventive intervention during transit. This functionality, combined with the container’s durable design, has earned it approval from regulatory bodies such as the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The containers’ ability to maintain precise temperature control and reduce operating costs makes them an attractive option for pharmaceutical companies focused on sustainability and efficiency in cold chain logistics.

Supporting the global shift towardmore sustainable logistics solutions

Eduard Seligman, CEO of Swiss Airtainer, emphasized the importance of this new investment: “This funding represents an important milestone for Swiss Airtainer. Our vision has always been to provide the most advanced, sustainable, and reliable alternative solutions for temperature-sensitive cargo, and this funding will help us scale up and move closer to our goal. The trust that several major pharmaceutical companies have already placed in Swiss Airtainer demonstrates the strength of our product and its potential to transform cold chain logistics.”

With regulatory approvals and growing demand, Swiss Airtainer is well positioned to scale production and expand its global market presence. The company’s innovative technology delivers cost savings while ensuring performance, supporting the global shift toward greener, more sustainable logistics solutions.
