WattAnyWhere secures CHF 2.2 million in a successful seed round closure, paving the way for future growth and innovation in renewable energy solutions.

WattAnyWhere, a renewable energy solutions start-up, has closed its seed round with CHF 2.2 million in equity, bringing its total funding close to CHF 5 million. This funding round saw participation from global investors across Switzerland, France, Norway, the Netherlands, the United States, and several other countries. Notable contributors included Family Office Upperside and venture capital fund Kickfund.

WattAnyWhere, founded in 2021 and based at the Energypolis campus in Sion (canton of Valais), has developed a breakthrough solution for electric vehicle charging point operators. The company’s innovative fuel cell system converts renewable ethanol into clean electricity, providing an environmentally friendly and efficient alternative to traditional power sources. This technology is particularly crucial as the demand for electric vehicle charging infrastructure grows, and existing grid capacities struggle to keep up.

The recent seed round success aligns with WattAnyWhere’s strategic contracts with early adopters in the oil and gas and retail industries. These partnerships validate the company’s approach to energy solutions and set the stage for significant future expansion. Looking ahead, WattAnyWhere plans to raise Series A funding in 2025 to further accelerate its growth and contribute to the global energy transition.

In the company’s press release, CEO Didier Roux expressed his enthusiasm about the seed round achievement: “We are thrilled to have met our seed round objective and to welcome a diverse group of investors who share our vision for a sustainable future. With the support of our investors and strategic partners, we are in a strong position to accelerate our growth trajectory and continue delivering cutting-edge solutions to meet the world’s energy needs.”

WattAnyWhere’s journey has been supported by Greater Geneva Bern area (GGBa), which played a crucial role in helping the company establish its headquarters in Sion. GGBa, alongside Economic Promotion Valais, assisted WattAnyWhere in navigating the Western Switzerland ecosystem and connecting with local innovation partners, contributing significantly to the startup’s development and success.
