Almer Technologies, the Bern-based AR startup, closes a CHF 3 million investment round led by Vi Partners, marking a significant step in the expansion of its industrial-focused AR solutions.

Almer Technologies, a start-up based in Bern, has successfully closed a CHF 3 million financing round led by venture capital firm Vi Partners, with additional support from KickFund. The investment will fuel the company’s next phase of growth, particularly in expanding its customer base beyond Switzerland and further developing its flagship AR product, the Almer Arc 2 headset.

Founded to provide a lightweight and easy-to-use alternative to traditional industrial AR solutions, Almer Technologies has quickly established itself as a leader in augmented reality for industrial applications. Its Almer Arc 2 headset features advanced AI-driven capabilities that enable seamless integration of telephony and video conferencing for remote maintenance, customer service and logistics workflows. The company currently serves over 120 customers, primarily in the DACH region, and is preparing to expand into the US market.

Sebastian Beetschen, CEO of Almer Technologies, commented on the investment: “By bringing Vi Partners and its Tech Partner Olivier Laplace on board, we secure cutting-edge knowledge and benefit from Vi Partners’ more than two decades of experience in financing startups. This investment will help us expand the Almer software platform and drive further hardware innovation.”

Olivier Laplace, Managing Partner at Vi Partners, praised the Almer team for their drive and agility, stating: “They are transforming the use of augmented reality in industries thanks to their powerful knowledge of both hardware and software. This product mastery enables them to offer the best possible user experience for frontline workers needing remote assistance.”

The news of the funding round coincides with Almer’s recent partnership with Cablex, where 20 Almer Arc 2 headsets have been deployed to support the company’s second level service team, further solidifying Almer’s role in industrial digitalization.
