Bern-based Besso has closed a CHF 4 million seed round, taken entirely by a European family office. The start-up’s platform helps multinationals manage the cost and complexity of global trade.
Besso has raised CHF 4 million in a seed round financed entirely by one large European family office, which asked not to be named. The company, a SaaS provider founded in 2023, is led by founder and CEO Philip Sieber-Gasser.
Besso’s platform helps multinational companies manage the cost and complexity of global trade. In a context of tariffs, trade barriers and geopolitical risk, it identifies opportunities in their international trade flows. Its customers include Danone, Unilever and AB InBev, and several more Fortune 500 companies have recently joined them.
Until now, Besso has grown lean and largely bootstrapped. In the company’s press release, Sieber-Gasser says: “We have always been very deliberate about building Besso around real customer demand rather than funding milestones.”
The new funds will be used to grow the team, expand capacity for a fast-growing base of multinational customers, and invest in product development and R&D.
