Bystronic acquires Vaud robotics start-up Isochronic

Swiss industrial group Bystronic has entered into an agreement to acquire Isochronic, an automation technology company based near Lausanne specializing in high-speed robotic sorting systems and software for sheet metal processing.

Bystronic has entered into an agreement to acquire Isochronic, a Swiss automation technology company founded in 2020 and headquartered near Lausanne. Isochronic will continue to operate under its own name.

Isochronic develops advanced simultaneous pick-and-place robotics for automated material handling and sorting. Its technology combines innovative robotic kinematics with a proprietary software platform, enabling high-speed, heavy-duty sorting for laser cutting applications. The company has been recognized in the Top 100 Swiss Startup Award in both 2023 and 2024.

Bystronic is a provider of solutions for sheet metal and material processing, combining laser cutting technology, press brakes, automation and software with laser applications for new materials and processes. The group employs more than 3,300 people at over 40 locations worldwide and generated net revenue of CHF 613.2 million in 2025.

The acquisition supports Bystronic’s strategy of delivering integrated manufacturing solutions, with Isochronic’s technology expanding its capabilities in automated sorting across a wide range of sheet formats while adding software architecture and robotics expertise. As part of the transaction, Bystronic acquires the rights to Isochronic’s proprietary software and technology, enabling its further development and integration within the group’s automation portfolio.
