Enerdrape, a Vaud-based cleantech start-up, has recently achieved a significant financial milestone, successfully closing a CHF 1.3 million seed financing round.

Enerdrape‘s innovative approach transforms underground infrastructures into renewable energy sources, a concept that earned the start-up numerous accolades, including the 2022 >>venture>> Grand Prize and the Prix Entreprendre Lausanne Region (PERL). In 2023, their geothermal panels were also recognized by Solar Impulse.

The Vaud-based company, founded by Margaux Peltier, Dr. Alessandro Rotta Loria, and Prof. Lyesse Laloui, intends to use this new fresh capital infusion to accelerate the development and commercialization of its groundbreaking technology. CEO and Co-Founder Margaux Peltier expressed her excitement, stating, “This CHF 1.3 million injection is a testament to the confidence our investors place in Enerdrape’s mission and potential. It propels the company to scale operations, enhance product offerings, and strengthen the team with new talents.”

The additional funding will not only bolster product development but also contribute to strategic team enhancements. With a total fundraising exceeding CHF 2 million, Enerdrape’s journey has been marked by steady growth and recognition, including support from the Swiss Climate Foundation and the FIT.

Thierry Mauvernay, President and Shareholder of Après-demain SA, emphasized the investment’s significance: “The investment in Enerdrape strengthens our commitment to energy transition through GeneRActions Planet. With its innovative geothermal panel technology, Enerdrape has the potential to revolutionize the energy sector.” Similarly, Paolo Pizzolato, Head of Venture Capital at Romande Energie, noted, “We have been following the start-up since its early days, highly interested in this form of geothermal energy that aligns perfectly with the deployment of energy-efficient solutions that Romande Energie is proposing to decarbonize the region.”

Since its inception in 2019, Enerdrape has been consistently recognized for its innovative solutions in sustainable energy. The company’s journey began as one of the TOP 3 winners at Climate Launchpad 2019, followed by numerous achievements, including the Bridge PoC grant, Venture Kick Stage 3 Winner, and being named a Hello Tomorrow deep tech pioneer. In 2023, following the installation of their geothermal panels in a Coop supermarket’s underground car park in Renens, Enerdrape marked a significant leap in its industrial production and was named among the TOP 100 Swiss Startups, reflecting its growing influence in the cleantech sector.
