The Vaud-based start-up and EPFL spin-off Technis has raised CHF 3.2 million for its connected floors that allow the flow of people to be regulated in real time.
Event venues, shopping centers and stores, schools, museums, casinos, leisure centers or public authorities; Technis’ connected floors enable many customers, in Switzerland and abroad, to abide by health regulations. Its smart metering solution combining a thin layer of sensitive sensors and artificial intelligence respects privacy and its digital terminals enable customers to control people flows in real time.
The Vaud-based start-up and EPFL spin-off has raised CHF 3.2 million, CHF 2 million of which coming from the M3 Group. “This solution, with its unmatched accuracy, enables us to meet the current health challenges we are facing. We intend to promote this technology to help stop the spread of the virus,” says Abdallah Chatilla, president of the M3 group.
New opportunities for international growth
This new investment round will create significant development opportunities for the international market, starting with the opening of Technis’ first sales office in Paris. Since its foundation in 2016, Technis’ technology shifted from a solution for intelligent tennis courts to one for the real-time analysis of people flows in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
In Switzerland, CERN, Bongénie Grieder, the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, Nestlé’s Headquarters in Vevey, the Barrière Casinos, the Bayeler Foundation, the Bains des Pâquis and the NonStop Gym Chain are among the clients that were enthused with the solution developed by Technis during the crisis.
