Renens-based L.E.S.S. SA has raised CHF 17 million to accelerate the industrial-scale deployment of its proprietary LuxiBright nano-fiber lighting technology across automotive, machine vision, and medical markets.
Renens-based photonics company L.E.S.S. SA has successfully closed a CHF 17 million (USD 22 million) oversubscribed Series C financing round, exceeding its original target. The funding will support the scale-up of the company’s operations and the large-scale deployment of its lighting solutions across its three core markets.
Founded in 2012, L.E.S.S. SA designs and manufactures advanced lighting systems based on its proprietary LuxiBright nano-active fiber technology, which delivers higher brightness, greater uniformity, and thinner form factors than conventional LED systems. The platform addresses demanding applications in industrial machine vision, automotive exterior lighting, and medical illumination.
The Series C comes on the heels of a significant commercial milestone: the launch of the world’s first series production vehicle featuring LuxiBright technology, marking the company’s entry into high-volume automotive supply. The round follows a CHF 14 million raise in 2019, which funded the industrialization of its automotive offering and the achievement of IATF 16949 certification.
