Mikron has announced a 6,200 m² expansion of its Boudry site, with an estimated investment of CHF 30 million to double production capacity by 2026.

Mikron, a world leader in automation and precision manufacturing, is expanding its site in Boudry, in the canton of Neuchâtel. Specializing in advanced assembly systems for industries such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices, Mikron provides high-performance automation solutions to streamline production processes.

The CHF 30 million project will increase Mikron’s production area by 6,200 m², enabling the company to double its capacity and accommodate an additional 100 employees. “This investment consolidates our position as a market leader and improves collaboration between teams,” said Félix Arrieta, Managing Director of Mikron Boudry, in an interview with RTN.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by 2026, during which time Mikron will temporarily occupy 2,000 square meters in the Y-Park technology center in Yverdon. This expansion follows a period of significant growth for Mikron, which has seen a steady increase in sales since 2020. The new space will also allow Mikron to centralize its warehouse operations, further optimizing efficiency.

Mikron’s automation systems play a key role in helping companies in various sectors improve their manufacturing processes, particularly in high-precision environments. The Boudry site plays a central role in the production of these solutions, and the expansion will enable Mikron to better meet the needs of its customers worldwide.

In addition to the new infrastructure, Mikron is working with the local authorities to improve public transport links to the Boudry site, making the company more attractive as an employer and enhancing its sustainability efforts.
