miros, an EPFL ecosystem start-up developing a network of bookable connected workpods, has closed a CHF 1 million pre-seed round to scale its deployment across Switzerland, targeting over 100 units by end of 2026.

Lausanne-based start-up miros has closed a CHF 1 million pre-seed financing round from business angels to accelerate the deployment of its network of connected, bookable workpods across Switzerland. Founded in 2023 within the EPFL ecosystem by Dr. Fabio Zuliani and Neil Chennoufi, the company develops a hardware and software platform, including a mobile app to locate, book, and access pods, designed for a workforce that is increasingly mobile and flexible.

The workpods are designed in collaboration with Lakabi, a Lausanne-based furniture brand, and fully manufactured in Switzerland through a production partnership with Ducommun Menuisiers, initiated via Innovaud’s SyNNergy grant. The canton of Vaud has additionally supported the development of a new version made entirely from Swiss wood, reinforcing the company’s commitment to local sourcing. The combination of Swiss engineering, software, design, and craftsmanship positions miros as a rare example of a hardware startup maintaining full production control domestically.

Since launch, miros has deployed 15 workpods across partners including the SwissTech Convention Center, Beaulieu Lausanne, and Hôpital Riviera-Chablais, accumulating close to 350 hours of usage. A pod deployed at Village by Crédit Agricole in Toulouse since October 2025 marks the company’s first international step. Participation in Geneva Airport’s GVA Runway Lab open innovation program allowed miros to validate its product-market fit in real-world conditions.

The pre-seed round will fund the rollout of over 100 units across Switzerland by end of 2026, with several new partnerships expected to be announced in the coming months.
