With USD 3.4 million in seed funding, Tune Insight is set to enhance secure data collaboration, advancing its vision in confidential analytics and ML.

In an era where data forms the backbone of critical business operations, the menace of cyber threats, fear of competitive advantage loss, and regulatory shackles often hinder companies from tapping into the collaborative and economic potential of sensitive data. Easing this challenge, Tune Insight has successfully secured USD 3.4 million in funding to bolster its quest in enabling organizations to automate collective intelligence extraction, minimize data liability, ease compliance adherence, all while enhancing data security and privacy.

The oversubscribed seed funding, spearheaded by 14Peaks Capital saw participations from US-based Inflection.xyz, Debiopharm, and Zurich Cantonal Bank, with existing backers Wingman Ventures also contributing.

The vision of Tune Insight was birthed back in 2016 when Swiss healthcare facilities approached the then researchers at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) with a cryptic challenge of securing collaborative efforts without exposing patient data. Fast forward to the present, Tune Insight’s footprint is now significant in Swiss health institutions, powering applications such as precision oncology survival analysis and personalized reference ranges, significantly benefiting from a robust 9 million data point pool from over 250,000 patients.

In collaboration with University Spital Basel, Tune Insight’s prowess extends to securing dermatology machine learning model training on cross-jurisdiction skin imagery. Moreover, the solution builds a trust bridge between payers like Groupe Mutuel and care providers for value-based healthcare, and pharma giants with hospitals for real-world evidence access.

Transforming the data economy paradigm

Tune Insight’s innovation also resonates in the insurance sector, aiding actuaries in collective risk analysis, and in the financial realm for fraud detection and anti-money laundering endeavors. Their collaboration with managed security service providers (MSSPs) and Armassuisse illustrates their capability in enhancing collective cyber resilience against burgeoning cyber threats. The spectrum of confidential computing operations facilitated by Tune Insight spans from private set intersection to secure federated learning on structured data, notably images, which are increasingly becoming pivotal in healthcare and predictive maintenance. The expansion into privacy-preserving generative AI showcases Tune Insight’s commitment to transforming the data economy paradigm into an insight economy.
